Wanda honed her skills as an actor and designer in the world of Theatre where she starred in and was the set designer for several productions in New York and Philadelphia. At a young age Wanda to travel to England where she studied Theatre at Oxford University. While there, she landed the roles of Eliza in Pygmalion and Eleanor in Sense and Sensibility where she received accolades, a stellar achievement for an American Actress.

Upon her return to Philadelphia, she became the Host of a magazine talk show and appeared in several films including M. Night Shyamalan’s “Unbreakable”, Steve Buscemi’s “Animal Factory”, and landed a recurring role in HBO’s “Sex and the City”. After moving from Philadelphia to Los Angeles to pursue her true passions, Wanda wrote 2 screenplays and a sitcom pilot. She also produced and starred in her first bi-lingual (English /Spanish) short, which won the Silver Remi Award at Houston’s International Film Festival in 2009.

While Wanda was learning the ropes of being a professional actor, she found her design skills were also in demand and started working for the prestigious design firm Interior Motives. After several years with Interior Motives, she started her own design firm, Wanda Colon Designs. Her work can be seen in many celebrity homes in Hollywood such as Kelsey Grammer and Paul Stanley (Kiss).

Being an actress in Hollywood with her own design firm, it wasn’t long before Wanda’s passions of art, design and acting -- converged. Her unique combination of skills were a perfect fit for the new design shows popping up on television. Wanda made guest appearances on HGTV’s “Designer’s Challenge”, “Designing for the Sexes” and then joined the design team of HGTV’s popular “24 Hour Design” as co-host and designer. After another appearance on “Rate My Space”, Wanda became the Host/Designer on TLC’s “Home Made Simple.” As one of television’s most prominent Latina personalities, the first generation Puerto Rican-American brings both spirited flair and sensitive imagination to the show.

In addition to her weekly hit TV show, Wanda’s experience in front of the camera has lead to more opportunities – such as co-hosting infomercials with fitness guru Jake Steinfeld (“Body by Jake”), appearing in an upcoming overseas tour for the Armed Forces Entertainment, and signing on as a spokesperson for Febreze.
